Business/Getaway Weekend

The Special Risk Agents Association that DH belongs to had their Superbowl weekend meeting/party at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino and Hotel. Since we have a much longer drive than most of the other agents, we made it a long weekend and so were able to really enjoy the weekend in a lovely setting. Not being the gambling types, DH and I spent our free time geocaching and driving around Bainbridge Island. While Gary was out hunting the caches, I put a few stitches into a little freebie project that doesn't require too much brainpower. Then there was the dinner, the meeting (which I got to skip), and the Superbowl party.

The game and the commercials were the center of attention, but a few of us who weren't that much into the game spent most of the time chatting. One of the wives has been interested in the whole blogging thing and had lots of questions about how to start. So I brought along my computer to the party and we did a little surfing. She has a ceramics studio so was interested to see how easy it is to find blogs that pertain to her interests. Perhaps she'll become a convert and start up her own blog too!

It was really nice to get away from home and responsibilities for a few days, especially in such beautiful surroundings and comfy room!

How's that old saying go - A change is as good as a vacation, or something like that? I'm glad you had a nice day away - it sounds very refreshing!
