Christmas RAK

Yesterday Kirsten called out to me, "Mom, you have a package!" as she brought in the mail. I thought it was the next Neighborhood Round Robin from Heather, but I soon saw it was from the U.K.! Andrea sent me a sweet little Christmas RAK! Thank you so much, Andrea, for this token of friendship.

It's a darling little pinkeep ornament, so perfectly finished. Earlier in the year I'd been looking at the little folk-style Christmas trees with the thought that I'd put my handmade/stitched ornaments on it, but decided I didn't have a good place to display the tree and ornaments. Now I regretted putting off that purchase! While doing some errands, I checked in at Michaels and found this pre-lit garland 50% off and thought it would be great to hang over the door by my sewing desk. This morning I put it up and hung my ornaments, including Andrea's, and I'm so very happy with the effect. First off, it hides the awful exposed header that was left when we installed the new doors; second and best it puts the ornaments at an advantageous level for viewing! Maybe I'll leave it up all year. :)On Sunday the smocking guild had a Christmas potluck and ornament exchange. Sadly, I neglected to get a pic of the ornament I made, but this gorgeous beaded Santa was the one I received made by Juliet.

What a great way to start out the week! I hope your week was just as enjoyable!

Those are cute ornaments! I have a feather tree I use for my stitched Christmas ornaments. I sniffed it out at the end of a year sale-that's something I have done all my life and I get great bargains that way. I like your idea of the lighted garland and hanging ornaments from it. I don't have a sewing room, so I bet it looks like it fits in perfectly there.

Both ornaments are just lovely! And I bet the garland looks great. I use garland and bows to cover up where we haven't installed trim yet in the room where the Christmas tree stands.
