Looking back towards Boise, this is part of the road we traveled up Shaw Mountain - the easy part!

Looking east toward the Sawtooth MountainsOnce at our destination, we started a nice campfire and munched on turkey sandwiches. Although the sun was shining, it was COLD, so the fire felt really good! The boys got to do a little target practice and Daniel (dd Melanie's boyfriend) got to use his chainsaw on a dead tree, cutting it up for future campfires. He also worked with Kyle on axemanship skills for badge requirements for Cadets. Most of the gang headed off on a hike to a spring, while Kirsten and I stayed at "camp" keeping the fire going.
Much too soon the sun was setting and we needed to head back for home and that leftover pie!
