Weekend Stitching

Acorns and Threads is much too much stitching fun!!

The medallion portion of the design is complete and I'm now moving on to the borders and alphabet. I'm using Waterlilies Espresso as I think it will set off the more colorful medallion perfectly.

The weekend was quiet at chez Paulson. Kirsten had a friend overnight on Friday, but they played downstairs most of the time and it was quieter than when Kirsten is alone, lol. Sunday afternoon, Kevin and Kyle spent the afternoon at a friend's house, and Fritz missed them terribly!

DH gave Fritz a really good workout both Saturday and Sunday taking him with the boys on Saturday, and Kirsten on Sunday out for some geocaching. DH got his 1,000th find Saturday! It'll probably take another 5 years to get the next 1,000. :) He took a great pic of the twins on top of Johnson Butte as the sun was setting.

Tomorrow DH has his monthly lunch meeting in Seattle and I'm thinking about driving him. It's been a few weeks since I've been out of town, and a day out sounds really good to me - even if it will be raining. I'll take along Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to read while he's in his meeting. A few weeks back I started reading the entire series from the beginning. Until then, I had never read any of the books, even though the kids were enjoying them, nor have I seen the movies. But now that the series is complete, I thought it would be fun to catch up with everyone else on the planet, lol! And I must say that the books are great fun. Perhaps they're not great literature, but worthwhile nevertheless.

Back to work! My laundry is in an awful state again - argh! :)

Is there such a thing as *too much* stitching fun? Surely not!
How long did it take you to read all the HP books? A couple of weeks? Wow. I'm planning to read them all in one go as well, but I think it might take me as long to read them as it took JK to write them :o/

Acorns and Threads is looking gorgeous, love the colours that you chose. If any dog can cure your grandsons of being timid, I am sure that Fritz can, he is so cute. What is it with dogs that they find the most revolting things to roll is??? Our dogs generally find dead birds in our yard.

Acorns and Threads looks gorgeous, I love the colors you're using. I'd jump at a chance to go to Seattle for the day. Pike Place Market is one of my favorite places to visit, gotta love the bronze pig and flying fish.

Good luck with the laundry... I remember what it was for my Mom when we were all still at home.

What?! Harry Potter's not great literature...Owww, heck! and I thought I could cross off reading a literary masterpiece off my list after I finished the series! :)))))) LOL!
I love them tho'!

And my your twins are handsome boys! They look like models in that beautiful picture!

And Von, your stitching...what is it about it? I just think that each time you show us something that you stitch I get this urge to get up and chuck mine in the trash bin. Your Acorns is just beautiful...I mean WOW!

Every time I read about your progress on Acorns and Threads I keep thinking you went to the shop LOL! Your WIP is gorgeous! You are coming right along.

I loved the HP series, the writing was not the best, but it was creative and fun, and that is what I need sometimes, FUN! :D

Go to Seattle and enjoy!

Hey Von! Did you make it to Seattle today? Lousy weather wasn't it? but just perfect for some cozy reading and stitching and good cup of coffee. Wish I could have taken the day off, would love to meet up with you.

Baby GD may be making an appearance sooner rather than later. The fetalfibernactin test came back postive on Sunday when we took Amy to the hospital with preterm labor. We'd like to see another two weeks under her belt though!!!

This piece you are working on now is lovely!!! I may have to have a closer look at that pattern!!! AS if I don't have enough to work on!!! LOL!

I ordered Acorns and Threads about 5 months ago, and for one reason and another, it's never arrived in my mailbox. Seeing your stitching, I'm definitely motivated to chase it up as you are doing an absoultely brilliant job with this! I so love the colours you've picked. Right, that's me ringing up that online shop today!!
