After finishing Rowyn's NRR, I had a hankering to begin Acorns & Threads Sampler by Carriage House Samplings.
Of course, the photo doesn't render the colors accurately. The linen is 28 ct. Prairie Grain which is golden with a touch of olive green - very autumny! The silk I'm using for the medallion is a Silk 'n Colors, but the name escapes me right now. Once again the colors are just right for this time of year, the purple tones remind me of the Virginia Creeper on my fence that is turning red and purple right now. This one should stitch up quickly and then it's back to Debby's NRR!
Fritz continues to delight us, although he does require a lot of attention. My dear little grandsons are not as delighted as the rest of us, being a bit on the timid side with dogs. Their other grandma has larger dogs at their country home and so even though they are very nice dogs, they've intimidated the boys with their barking and size. I'm hoping that Fritz will win them over in time!
The boys take him outside several times a day, of course, but a couple of days ago, Fritz found a real puppy treasure - a dead squirrel, a very dead squirrel. Puppy pounced and played with it while the boys were trying to get him away. Finally, mission was accomplished, but the smell remained on the dog. Ugh! So DH gave Fritz his first bath last night and the boys were sent to dispatch the body to areas far off the puppy path! :D
School and all our errands and activities are keeping me extraordinarily busy and I'm falling dreadfully far behind on my blog reading. I miss keeping up with all of you and your gorgeous projects, but for now I must be content with a visit now and then.

Acorn and Threads is going to be beautiful!!
That story with the squirrel revives similar memories with our two dogs from 10 years ago... Yep, that's the kind of thing you might remember for a long time! ;)
Oh, I love Acorn and Threads! Of course, Kathy is one of my all-time favorite designers ... but this is a particularly lovely design. Can't wait to see more of your progress with it. :)
Fritz's story makes me laugh because it is just such a doggie thing to do! I'm sure he'll win your grandsons over in time - he's such a cutie!
Acorn and Threads is really pretty. I love the colour of the thread.
The delights of puppies!! I'm sure Fritz smells delightful now. :)

Acorn and Threads is looking gorgeous in that overdye
Love the fabric and fibers for your newest project. Enjoy! :)
Awww, Fritz is adorable!
Acorns & Threads looks great. I know how frustrating it can be trying to get colours to show accurately in a picture!
Teehee, dear little Fritz! I'm sure the boys will get used to all the doggies when they're a bit older. It was the same with Pelle and his namesake, Pelle the dog.
Gorgeous new project, Von. You're right, the colours are perfect for Autumn. Good luck with all your work!
What a great start on AT. Fritz is still soooo cute....squirrel smell and all!! :)
I love the colors that you picked for this piece. Very pretty.

Isn't Fritz a cute dog?!... Your family must be thrilled! And the poor squirrel certainly didn't care...
You've stitched such wonders lately! I'm thrilled to read your blog, as always...
I know I'm late for this but please wish your big boys a happy birthday for me...
Take care, dear Von,
Lili
I think your Acorns & Threads piece is lovely! Could you email me the color of the Silk 'n Colors you used for the medallion? Thanks, Barbie
