That's the theme of this year's Benton-Franklin County Fair and Rodeo. Each year we attend the fair, which the kids love - especially the rides. This year we're going up to Silverwood for Labor Day Weekend, so I didn't feel that rides at the fair were necessary. Then I realized that the kids had never been to the rodeo - how could it be that we'd always skipped that?! Especially when the price is included in the fair ticket - such a deal. :) Well, it helped that this year's fair weather is about as perfect as it could possibly be, so spending an evening outdoors in and of itself is appealing. The kids had a great time watching all the events and can't wait to go again. I think that'll be next year tho - one trip to the fair, with the kids, is enough for me!

I am returning to the fair tonight, but will be demonstrating smocking and other hand-stitching that the Columbia Cablers guild (SAGA) does. So I need to gather up some supplies and projects to take out so show the folks who stop by our table.
In NRR news, yesterday I visited a wonderful friend from church who is a fabulous needlewoman, in order to peruse her design stash. I've been through all my stuff and didn't quite find the right design for Rowyn's NRR. Mary Margaret has several of Elizabeth's Designs, including "Old Stone Church" which I think will fit in so nicely with the houses in the neighborhood. Rowyn would like to see a village develop and every village has an old church. Can't wait to get started on it! I'm so jazzed to think that I could actually get it stitched weeks before the next mail date, lol!

Thanks for checking out my blog. I'm glad Heather hooked you up with me. She's become a great friend and she's getting me back into stitching. I used to be a cross-stitcher, but somewhere during the busyness of raising 6 kids I quit for awhile but always loved it. Heather introduced me to a fun shop here in Portland and got me going on a fun project. Things have changed since aida cloth. I had never stitched on linen before and its a new experience, but I love how it looks. I'm finding my eyes aren't what they used to be and I need really good lighting to do it, but I'm catching the bug again. I enjoyed checking out your blog. Your stitching is beautiful.
Oooo, a rodeo! I love rodeos, and haven't been to one in years!!! Very cool! I look forward to seeing your work on Rowyn's RR - your blew me away with what you stitched on the first one, Heathers, I think :-)
