On the Dry Side

The wanderers have returned home after a truly amazingly wonderful cruise around southeastern Alaska. I left home more eager to see Alaska than excited about the cruising, but our experience with Holland America Line left me ready to plan another cruise - longer would be better!

We experienced very nice Alaskan summer weather, with people actually getting sunburned during our time in Yakitat Bay viewing the glaciers! Now it wasn't warm, but the sun was bright and as we sailed out of the bay, I returned to our private veranda to sit in the sun and listen to the sound of the water as the ship cut through, almost falling asleep. The rain did fall on us in Sitka and just a little bit of the liquid sunshine appeared in Ketchikan, but all in all, the weather was fine.

A few minutes ago I sat down to download the pics off my camera card, but it's telling me the card isn't formatted. DH bought me this great new card, 2 gbs, so I could take lots of pictures, which I did. Now it looks like we're going to have a project to transfer them. As soon as we get this problem solved, I'll upload some pics here and also have a link to more if you'd like to spend the time viewing them.

In the meantime, my grandsons are here and I still haven't really unpacked yet. Catch you later!!
