Ramblings

It's been awhile since I've done a regular ol' update. While sitting in airplanes and airports, I was able to get some stitching done. "Fine Linens" received quite a bit of attention until my eyes tired of the 32 ct. and thought I'd begin a little something on 28 ct. It's so much easier to stitch on while sitting in the airport after dark waiting for another delayed flight, lol!

This is Snowflake 1 from Thistle Threads Snowflakes stitched over 2 on white Cashel linen with the gorgeous Waterlilies Tracy sent me!

It took a couple of days to acclimate to the Pacific time zone and the first couple days of May are kinda hazy in my memory. May 3 we celebrated ds Brendan's 16th birthday. It was very low-key celebration, but he was quite satisfied - at least that's what he told us. :)

Since then I've planted some annuals and a few perennials in my garden - that means my rock pile continues to grow! Kyle has received the all clear from the doctor that his wrist is completely healed and his activities are no longer restricted at all. Kirsten and I attended an afternoon tea with her American Heritage Girls troop at a nearby retirement home. There was quite a nice turnout of the ladies in residence and they enjoyed hearing the girls sing and chatting with girls and moms too.

Of course, there's the usual mundane housekeeping activities I've been attempting to catch up with. What I haven't caught up with yet is my blog reading! I've been trying to spend time reading and commenting, but it's going to take me some time yet - so I'll thank you all ahead of time for being patient with me!

Also on deck this month is getting my Neighborhood RR ready to mail on June 1. It's been great fun flipping through old issues of JCS looking for cute houses and gardens that I might be able to use for my rr and those of my friends. But it's crunch time now - gotta make some decisions and put needle to thread!

I think you have done an amazing job, stitching in airplanes and airports at all! Honestly, without my OTT light - or bright daylight -stitching is becoming a no-no.
Take your time with blog-reading. You're better off finding ideas for your NRR. How exciting is that!

Your 'Silk Threads' is very beautiful, I love the look of the linen. You must have been quite delayed with the snowflake stitching you managed to get done! Happy belated Birthday to Brendan. Happy decision making for your NRR looking forward to seeing what you have chosen :-)

Wow, It's hard to believe Brendan is 16 now...I still vividly remember him tagging along as a newborn when we went to the homeschool conference together!!

We haven't posted this anywhere yet,(except here) but I am going to be a grandma again!!! Amy Sue is 11 weeks along and baby is doing great this time. Good strong masculine heartbeat!!! Due date is about the same as Alana's was, December 1st.

"I've been surprised at the good luck I've had with my flights this spring, no delays or cancellations, luggage arrived the same time I did - amazing!"

Oh? Sounds like some delayed flights right here. Sorry to hear about that.
