Coming Back to Reality

After living in the dream world that is The Westin on Grand Bahama Island, it's difficult to come back to normality. The days were beautifully warm and mostly sunny, the evenings just a few degrees lower with a humidity that served to relax rather than enervate. The meals we enjoyed were among the best I've ever had, even the room service breakfasts were wonderful.

We spent some time by a couple of the pools on the property, a cool drink close at hand. We also did a round of parasailing, took out a wave runner, and sailed a catamaran several times. All the activities were so much fun, but even with all our precautions of slathering on the sunscreen, we did get a little pink. The tops of our feet were burned the worst so that wearing some of our shoes was simply impossible for a few days. Not only was this the first time we'd been outside much this season, but it was semi-tropical sun - very strong.

We met so many wonderful people, agents from around the country as well as GMAC people, and renewed acquaintances with some couples we met on other trips. A month from now DH and I will be flying to Puerto Rico for a similar awards trip. It's going to be interesting to see how it compares!

Oh my...I'm beginning to think I should tell my husband to switch careers! I've not been on a vacation since 2002! And I'm *not* kidding!
The whole trip sounds divine and such fun! Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Your trip sounds fantastic apart from the sore feet!
I don't think I have ever seen a sea look that blue and the parasailing looks great fun. I'm so pleased you both had such a lovely time even though it is a bit hard to re-adjust but that just proves how good it was for you :-)))
