A Happy Week

There's been lots of activity in the house this week with a break from school, Kirsten's tenth birthday, Good Friday service, Saturday's Easter celebration with all our immediate family. Wrapping it all up beautifully were two church services today.

Kirsten began her celebrating on Tuesday with a playdate with Lindsey, a friend from karate who couldn't come to her little party on Wednesday. Taking a good thing and making it last longer!! Wednesday afternoon a few friends from our neighborhood and one other from homeschool p.e. class came for a very low-key party - no razzle dazzle, no extravagance, just a few games, a craft, goodies and cake! Kirsten decorated her own cupcakes this year and had a ball doing it. Two of the girls stayed overnight, so the party lasted till around lunchtime on Thursday. Kirsten had a good time with her friends, so that's the main thing.

In order to still have a family Easter celebration and not conflict with Winckler family tradition, we had the big dinner on Saturday. Dsil Matt spent most of the day working on the house he and Mystie just bought, while she brought our grandsons to our home to dye eggs, then hunt for them.

Little boys are so very entertaining! Hans brought over a new game his dad just bought for him called "GuloGulo" which the kids loved playing. After a yummy ham dinner, Matt brought a game of "Bang" out to play with the older set and everyone had a great time. While they were playing, I caught up on some blog reading!

So with all that and the twins having their buddy Keith overnite, and lots of neighborhood kids in and out all week, getting the back yard cleaned up, I think we all had a very happy week indeed!

What a wonderful week you had. I am hoping for the same this week as I was so very busy last week getting ready for Easter. I love what Kirsten did with her cupcakes and your grandsons are just so precious. I especially love the concentration you can see in the photos while the egg dying was going on. :)

Von, you made the pictures even look fun! What a wonderful week you had! Oh, how I wish my grandkids were still so young! We had a nice Easter dinner at my DD's yesterday, and my big grandkids still got their Easter baskets and had to hunt for them. It warms my heart that my daughter has kept our old traditions.
I would like to take your little grandson's pink cheeks and squeeze 'em! He's such a darling! And Mystie looks so much like my Moriah did at about 9 or 10. Oh, how I miss those days... thanks for the beautiful memories, Von!
