Garden Progress

In spite of a freeze warning we had this week (which didn't affect my yard), I went ahead and put a few plants into my garden that I bought at Costco/Home Depot over the last couple of weeks. They've been hardening off on my deck in preparation for the garden.

In digging up some holes for those three curly-leafed heuchera, my shovel hit a rock - nothing unusual there. So I continued to probe around, dig around, trying to find an edge to the thing. My hole got bigger and bigger and I finally asked DH to come give me a hand. That big thing you see in the pic is the rock he extracted! After consideration, I decided to leave it in place as a decorative element. ;)

This spring I purchased three large pots for the back patio and got them planted up yesterday too. Can't wait to see them grow to fill the pot to overflowing with great color!

Saturday morning DD Mystie brought Hans and Jaeger to stay while she, and I a little later, worked on a service project at the church for one of our missionaries. I was making pancakes for the family, little Jaeger here put away three big whole-wheat pancakes, plus the leftovers of his older brother's. Yep, he favors the Paulson side of the family! :-D

Hope your weekend is a pleasant one!

LOL! He's a sweetie eating his pancakes (and his brothers leftovers!) My twins are like that...one is skinny as a starving chicken (my DH's side) and the other is chubby and always hungry (my side, LOL!)
Your garden looks fabulous...I had to smile about the rock too...where we live is called Limestone Capital because we have many limestone rock quarries all over...the empire state building is built using Indiana Limestone...anyway...we have many rocks in our yard too and most of the time if we want to dig something we unearth monstrous rocks like yours :) I planted my flower containers and garden flowers this weekend too :) Glad to have my flowers coming back!

What an awesome shot of Jaeger ... put a huge smile on my dial ... are you sure he's not a distant relative of mine too? LOL. As for not moving that humungous rock ... geez, I wonder why?? I think I would've been leaving it right there too! ;P
