Mt. St. Helens has been hiding from the webcam much of the winter so my habit of checking on her has slacked off. But this morning I thought to check again and was greatly rewarded with this great shot.
Spring is beginning to push through the ucky winter blues. Around here that means blustery days, days in which I'd still rather stay mostly indoors as the wind is not my friend. It's funny how my kids, being raised here, enjoy the wind. I really do need to get outside and work up the soil in my garden beds before they're totally overrun with weeds, hmmmm maybe this weekend.
I put in the last bit of needleweaving on my hardanger doily yesterday! No picture yet as I need to give it a nice soak and press before releasing it from the fabric. But the stitching is DONE! During the annual church business meeting last night, I put a few stitches into "Silk Threads" the companion to "Fine Linens", but not enough progress for a picture as yet.
I'm a bit behind on my blog reading, but I've been stitching and endeavoring to keep up with my laundry and some housework. Now it's almost time to get the kids to homeschool p.e., then plant myself on the bike and get a workout!

MSH's looks beautiful! My Grandpa had a medicine bottle filled with ash from a distant relative's house. Apparently when it erupted, ash landed on his house in buckets and he sent my Grandpa a sample. I always think of that and my Grandpa telling me all about the eruption when I was a little girl every time I hear about MSH
Great picture of Mt. St. Helens! I remember when I went to Seattle with my Mum in 1998, that she was always saying "I hope MSH won't erupt when we are here!" :)
Mt. St. Helens is one of the prettiest places I've had the good fortune to be. I've been hiking there before it blew, the first year after the explosion that hikers were allowed back, and lots of times as a young child. We didn't live too far from there.
The signs of spring are a wonder to see, aren't they? Spring has really surprised me this year.

That's a gorgeous picture, Von! Do you live far from the mountain? I'm so anxious for spring to arrive, it can't get here soon enough for me, but we had yet more snow last night :-(
