It's Been a Week

since my last post. There's just not been much to write about. I haven't done any stitching, nor much of anything but normal family activities and getting ready to host Bunco at my house . . . which was last night. Hosting takes a lot out of me - all the planning, trying to come up with a theme, shopping for prizes, not to mention cleaning the house! But it always turns out fine.

This time I went with the typical March theme of St. Patrick's Day, so I had green score cards, little green take-out boxes for snacks, green gift bags. And in the bags I had some Bailey's Irish creme and coffee for the top prizes, Irish tea and green tea pots (they were sooo cute!) for 2nd and 3rd, then a mug with a tiny package of coffee and Baileys tucked inside for booby prize and the bunco traveler prize. There were two of us with exceptionally high scores - I was one with four buncos and a score of 17! And Jennifer had a score of 19. So I won the bunco prize, but made an aside comment about really wanting a teapot. Well one of those winners heard me and said she'd enjoy the Baileys more than the tea - so we traded! Yay!

What's Bunco? It's a simple dice game. Click here

While Bunco shopping, I dropped into Craft Warehouse where they had fat quarters on sale. I picked up a few and covered my bulletin board with three of them. I've been admiring that one with the tape measure for several months, so was happy to get it on sale. :)

Now the public areas of my house are clean, so maybe this weekend I can put more time into that hardanger doily. Of course, what I should do is work on decluttering some of those not-so-public areas of the house!

You always seem to do a great job of planning Bunco nights when they are at your house, no wonder it occupied so much of your time! I hope that you can sit down and relax this weekend. *hug*

I bet it was a lot of fun for everyone - makes me want to have some sort of stitchy-gathering here at my house. It'll *make* me clean the house, and it'll be fun to see everyone.

Glad you had a nice time with Bunco which I have ever heard of before.
Have fun stitching! I agree, if the public parts of the house look nice, why worry about the rest of the place over the weekend?
The tape measure fabric is pretty cool.

Your bunco night sounded great fun Von, and I loved your theme and the little teapot is extremely cute too.

You are always so organised, I am totally in awe of you and all that you do.

I remember my aunts playing bunco - I think they used to play it at wedding showers!

Wish I could say that the public areas of my house were clean - can't seem to keep up lately.

Love that tape measure fabric!

Good Trade! Lovely 'green' theme for your Bunco. It was so windy & cold here [on St.P's Day] we didn't do much. The weather kept flipping between snow flurries & sunshine -- but brrr, bitter cold.

Lovely cover to your BB.
