SBQ and Stuff

This week's SBQ question is:

Do you like to buy "chartpacks" that include charms, buttons, and/or
beads or do you prefer to gather all materials yourself?

I have mixed feelings about this one. The collector in me would rather find all the materials called for in the chart and buy full skeins for my stash. The lazy in me loves chartpacks! So yes, I do buy them, (but not every time) especially for the Victoria Sampler designs I have as she uses such a variety of fibers that it's just so much easier to have everything in hand when I begin one of Thea's projects.

On to stitching progress for this week. I haven't touched the hardanger doily I recently showed you as I had forgotten where I put the instructions for the design. Argh! That's why "Fine Linens" came out and this is what it looks like today.

This is my first good-sized project I've stitched on 32 ct and I'm enjoying it very much. I was concerned that my eyes wouldn't function as well as on my usual 28 ct., but I've had no problems. So perhaps a project on a higher count will have to be attempted one of these days! Oh, I do have a whitework project for SAGA that's on an extremely fine linen, but it's not counted work. :)

Another project I have going is reorganizing my cardstock. The monthly stamp club I belong to is hosted by a Stampin' Up dealer, so I buy most of my cs from that line (once again the lazy option!). I've been storing my collection in magazine holders, which works well, but am switching over to the file on wheels so I can easily move it to wherever I want. And with the labels, I can see at a glance what I have available and what needs to be reordered.
There aren't any big plans on the calendar for this weekend, a three-dayer for many of us in the U.S. Perhaps we'll spend some time whipping the house back into a more orderly state, then reward ourselves with something fun - like stitching for me. :D

Enjoy the weekend!

I have to ask ~ where did you find a rolling file cabinet to hold your cardstock? One of those would be great for us, thumbing through all the papers ends up ruining the corners.

Fine Lines looks lovely and I really love the colours together.
