Ramblin' Along

I am sure looking forward to playing post-holiday catch up with all of my great blogging friends. Just like everyone else I'm sure, my unread blog count has gone sky high, and all that's kept it from going astronomical is that everyone is in the same boat as I! I couldn't even tell you what my count is cuz I haven't even looked today, and I'm probably not going to this week. I hate it, but that's just how it is.

Where am I in my Christmas prep? Well, today I was able to do some Christmas shopping. One more day and I think I'll have it finished. Most of my cards are in the mail - hurray! Sunday afternoon was my guild luncheon/ornament exchange. I stitched up a Tokens and Trifles paper ornament which turned out really nice, but I didn't get a picture of it - argh! Sunday evening was our church children's Christmas program, featuring my three youngest children. They performed a play that we've done several times over the years, but it's a favorite with some lovely songs, and lots of humor provided by the youngest children especially.

Well, I really should clear off my cutting table so I can wrap some gifts - especially while Kirsten is away playing at her friend's house! She's been so disappointed to wake up each morning and find there are no gifts under the tree yet. She doesn't realize that for years I never put out presents until late late late Christmas Eve! There was usually a little baby/toddler/child around who didn't need the extra temptation. Just keeping the tree upright was an accomplishment, lol!

I hope you have Christmas better in hand than I do and are enjoying some relaxing evenings with your stitching and perhaps a cup of tea.

I just walked in the door from the mall, and I am exhausted, but I DID IT!!! I finished the shopping! I am always so glad to have that done! Now I just need to get them wrapped! More Christmas activities continue to be cancelled due to lack of power, so perhaps I will be able to do some baking and more stitching before next Sunday! I won't hold my breath tho! We were back to work today, but our manager declared it jeans day all week! Horray! We can be comfortable while trying to get caught up!

Oh, I have Christmas well in hand - I don't celebrate it!!!!LOL!!

Many thanks for the cinnamon bread tips - DH will really enjoy that and I might just try it whilst we have some extra time over the holidays. I mix by hand though.=) Not having such a big family and also not having space for a bread machine......=)=)

Von, I'm sure that you have everything in hand..but you are right...I'm not getting my reading done either...nobody is, because I've not had nearly the same amount of hits that I had prior to the holiday seasons and I know I've not been around like I had been. 2007 will soon be here and the holidays a memory...so I'm trying to savor the moments! :o)
Have a great Christmas!!

Just had mashed potato after reading your recent posting on that!!! I was looking in a veggie cooking mag about mash too and it mentioned a potato ricer and also not to do your mash in blender. Interesting! I'd never considered either as I just mash it with a simple took by hand, but then I have two greedy pigs to feed - Sir and I!!!

Anyway, you seem to be having a positive impact on my kitchen habits and I thought you'd like to know!!!

Hugs, E=)

Yup, we're pretty much all in the same boat. Too much to do, no time to blog!

Its definitely a busy busy time of year but Christmas will be over before we know it. Still, I have found a little time for stitching in the evening with a cup of tea!

Hey Vonna!
I share your too little time, so much to do conumdrum. But as Wendy said, it will be over before we know it, so even though we are going around like crazies, we need to enjoy this busy time!

It's been awhile since I visited, you've been a busy lady. I know Christmas at your house is very special because of your preparations!
