The Weekend

After the boys' friends left for their own homes and junk was mostly picked up in our home, I sat myself down in my chair and spent the rest of the day stitching and watching tv. What bliss!

One of my favorite things is to find a travel program on Discovery Hi-Def and revel in the color and detail in the pictures of far-away lands. Saturday, they had two programs on Italy. Since I could hardly pull my eyes away from the visual feast on tv, I didn't progress as far as I should have on my stitching. But still, I finished the 2004 SB ornie and made a start on 2005, which I continued working on Sunday evening.

Sunday afternoon we celebrated the twins actual birthday which a family meal which included everyone, except dd Melanie who had to work concessions at the hockey game. But Mystie, Matt, and our two grandsons came over after the little guys had taken a good nap and were quite cheerful for their visit. I grilled some chicken and made alfredo sauce for the noodles, green salad, and green beans, while Mystie brought the bread. To top off the celebration, we had carrot cake, then the boys opened their gifts. The best gift of all was from Geoff, Melanie and Brendan - the twins received their own shinai. Here are a couple of pics the Grandpa took of Hans and Jaeger. Just like my own kids, my grandsons are growing much too quickly. Good thing there's another one on the way. :)

Here's a pic of the whole gang at the overniter. Bunch of cute kids. :)

Your grandsons are adorable, Von. :) Thanks for sharing those beautiful photos.

I'm with you on the VS thread trauma! I have Jingle Bells Christmas Tree Farm and it took me forever to sort through those threads. I should make a start on that one really, as it's so pretty. :) I'll look forward to seeing your progress!
