Hurray! I'm retreating from family and household responsibilities for a couple of days with most of the women from my church. Each year at this time we have this retreat at the wonderful Bozarth Mansion and Retreat Center in Spokane. We have a guest speaker who is always edifying, but really just the time away chatting and sharing the joys and troubles of life with friends is renewing.
Shortly I'll be leaving to house to pick up dd Mystie and about half the food needed for the weekend. We'll make the drive to Spokane on this beautiful autumn day, unload the food and be free to explore Spokane. There is a new-to-me needlework store I want to visit - yippee!! And we're planning to have dinner with another mother/daughter duo at a charming dive that serves fabulous calzones - or so I've been told. We'll see if it's still true. :)
The family staying behind has plenty of food in the pantry and they're not entirely helpless anymore. DD Melanie would normally go with us, but opted to get in lots of hours at work instead. So I'd better get in gear now to do those last minute things in the bag and get my car washed for the journey!
I wish you all an equally wonderful weekend!
