Happy Halloween

The t-shirts are still out, but they're under the flannels - it's COLD in the Mid-Columbia! It's still sunny and clear, but twenty degrees colder during the day and down to 18 degrees at night - brrrrrr!

I was finishing up Kirsten's costume today, making up the bonnet and hemming the dress. She looked real cute. After that little chore was over, I made up a couple of goodie bags for Hans and Jaeger who were not trick or treating tonight. You see Hans has a corn allergy so it's kinda futile to go out after sweets filled with corn syrup. Hershey bars and Kit Kats are sweetened with sugar so that's what I filled their bags with. Maybe in a year or two Hans can go out with Aunt Kirsten and they can do some trading later.

Under the kids' costumes tonight were several layers of clothes since it's so cold. The boys actually were able to get jackets on under their cloaks, Kirsten had a sweater over her dress. Thankfully there is not a breath of wind tonight so with all those layers in addition to the running between houses, the kids stayed fairly warm. Their cheeks were all pink, but they had a great time.

Ah so it IS cold at your end of the world! Still, it sounds like the kids didn't mind. I love your pictures. Wish people were more into Halloween over here!

Well I'd have to say that your Kirsten really did look like the American Girls Kirsten! Is that who she was portraying? My daughter Katie was Mary Ingalls last night...she looked sweet too!
Love your pumpkins!

"... allergic to corn" ??? I've never heard of a thing! I'm allergic to just about everything so I imagine this one will be next, but the poor kid.

Thank you for the get well. I am getting better.

I gotta say Von, you are my hero! You do SO much, and are so busy, it's truly amazing to me.

Happy first of November. :o)

They say everything old is new again...I think my sister and I dressed like that for Halloween in 1976. Oh, the good old days when we had to walk uphill both ways to get candy. (We really did!)
