Small Steps

It seems like I should have more reorganization accomplished by now, but fair activities cut into my time. Still, I have cleared off the top of my desk! (But my cutting table is piled high, as you can see.) DH moved Kirsten's school desk over to the outside wall. I need a couple more supports for my shelves, so they don't bow down.

Bridging the gap between my desk and Kirsten's is a wire drawer unit that I've had for years, which now contains office/school supplies. I still needed something more and thought I'd buy a 4 ft folding table at Costco. But when I got there, I discovered this little item that has storage and a top hard surface! That's where my teacher's editions of the kids' textbooks and other homeschool supplies will belong.

Although the top of my cutting table is still a mess, I think I have the storage underneath set up rather well. The drawers contain paper crafting supplies and the wire shelves contain my paper. When not using them, I can cover it all up with the fabric skirt.

Best of all, my desk is by one of our new glass doors. The back yard is quite small for my neighborhood, but at least I can see out. And this time next year it should be filled with some new border plants and hopefully a water feature!

Later today I hope to have some pics of the smocking I did at the fair. But first I have some last minute school shopping to do!

I didn't expect you to reorganize overnight, you know? ;) If you do it right, it tends to take a while. Especially in a space as large as what you're working in, with any many different supplies and items as you're working with. Don't be so hard on yourself. LOL.

I'm so envious of your craft space, it's fantastic. :) I've had a lot of fun catching up on what you've been doing all summer... it sounds like you've had a wonderful time.
