Scissors are Beautiful

Tuesday was a rainy day, Wednesday followed with wind. At least this wind was not the damaging kind. Nevertheless I kept a close watch on the sky since my newly restored Exedition is parked in my driveway again, smelling of paint, but looking marvelous.

As I prefer to stay indoors on windy days, I began the task of pulling things out of the storage closet under the stairs and deciding if they stay or go. I need to make some room to store all my stash that I keep handy near my sewing and school desks during the remodeling of the family room. In order to do a really good job of decluttering, I need to get really mad and frustrated at having soooo much junk and then I can be ruthless, mostly.

In going through some of my project bags, I found a pair of my much-loved Gingher embroidery scissors that I took to a SAGA meeting months ago when we were sewing shark's teeth pillows. I also found my sewing machine manual! Now this girl has two manuals and with any luck, should always be able to find one of them, hehe.

Embroidery scissors are a wondrous thing to me and I love adding a new pair to my collection now and then. Rachael, not knowing that I have a small collection, recently sent me a new pair for our Gemini Birthday Exchange. So while I had several pairs of my Ginghers all together, I thought I'd capture the moment digitally. More scissors are upstairs near my stitching chair. Good tools are important in any endeavor. Isn't it wonderful that these tools can also be beautiful!

Lovely scissors, Von! I think scissors are a common indulgence amongst stitchers, aren't they? Hmmm... maybe you should suggest an SBQ about scissors and how many people have? ;)

I just received a pair of Gingher scissors today from Cathy and I like them so much that I want to take them to bed with me! LOL

And speaking of scissors, the small set you gave me for our Gemini exchange has proven invaluable - exactly the right tool for on-the-go stitching projects!!

Manual, who needs a manual?

Your scissor collection is lovely. That teapot is just *adorable*!

I need a manual! I feel more confident if I know it's nearby - and I always forget about the gizmo that comes down when I make buttonholes so I have to look it up. Lol!

The scissors are beautiful!
I never look into the manual of my sewing machine - until everything goes terribly wrong (which happens frequently!)

Lovely goodies! It's only recently that I gained an appreciation of all the lovely stitching scissors to be had out there -mainly from reading blogs like yours! LOL
