SBQ

Today's SBQ is:

When you stitch from a kit and use the supplied floss do you have leftovers? If so, how much and what do you do with them? If not, do you usually have just enough or do you have to dig into your stash to finish?

The last few years most of the kits I've bought and stitched were Victoria Sampler designs with acc paks. The acc paks have always had enough fibers for the design, usually with some leftovers. I like to keep the extras in a basket and have actually used some of them on other projects. One project in particular was a crazy quilted chicken pin cushion for smocking guild. The leftover silk and metallics were perfect for the seam embroidery and other motifs. I have another crazy quilt project brewing in my mind and I could use up more of those threads and some of the silk ribbon that I have remaining from from DD's wedding - five years ago! Well, it's going to take more than one project to use up all that ribbon, lol. Supplies are so scarce here that when I found some I bought LOTS!

Good Answer Von.

I like the idea of using scraps for crazy quilt projects.

Well, I think many of us stitchers keep small treasures, "just in case"... and we're sometimes right... lol!
Take care!
