It Happened Again

Yes, water once again in the storage and laundry rooms. This time the irrigation line broke and water made its way to the surface, became a fountain and ran down the side of the house, filling the window well. And this time we're even damp in the family room which is located at the low end of the slope. Lots more water this time, but the drain in the laundry caught some of it. Twice in one week is a little more than I could take, so I promptly called DH and spread the joy of it all! Then I got busy with the vacuum. Oh well. We were going to redo the lines this spring - why couldn't the line hold out for a few more weeks!!

No damage was done to the house or contents. Only my afternoon and my spirits were damaged. So I spent the evening catching completely up on my stitching blogs, at least temporarily, and then put a couple of hours in on "P". Hurray! I hadn't stitched much for over a week and I felt I definitely deserved and needed that time in my stitching chair.

Tomorrow my oldest daughter and her family will be having dinner with us and celebrating DS Geoff's 21st birthday, which was Monday. He already had his big trip to Tokyo, so I figure he's been celebrating for quite awhile now! This morning he had a job interview and was hired right away for his first real 8-hr/day job. He's been working for a couple of years in IT at the community college while taking classes, but now he'll be getting a taste of real adult life. The plan is that he'll work and this fall continue taking night classes at WSU-Tri-Cities (a branch campus of Wash. St. Univ.) to finish his degree.

I'll leave you with a couple of my favorite photos that DH took in Tokyo. They visited at the perfect time for the cherry blossoms.
Edited to add: Blogger seems to be having some problems with pics again, so right now we have these tiny things. Maybe later I'll be able to fix them, or they'll fix themselves!

Sorry to hear about the water problems. Glad you had no damage.
I'm crossing fingers for next week when they start messing in my house.

Von, I know just how it is with the water. Only ours was always disastrous. It's so disheartening! Water is such a powerful force. I once wrote a short story recalling our first basement flood, and so many got such a kick out of it. I really should find it and write it in my blog, along with pix.

On the lighter side, the lovely Tokyo pix with the cherry blossoms in full bloom is a beautiful sight!

Hi Von! sorry to hear that you had water loggage again! Not fun! I am glad you were able to sit and enjoy some stitching for a bit though. Oh guess what? This afternoon, after I posted a photo of Nov. Quilt, my husband spilled coffee on it! I am really hoping it comes out!
Hope you have a great week!
