Gary and Geoff In Tokyo

Geoff on the Tokyo subway

Not long ago my DH got me on Miranda (ICQ) and we had a nice chat about their trip to Tokyo yesterday. It was an extremely long day, but they finally arrived at their hotel at 8 p.m. If you'd like to read about the first part of their journey, click here. Can't wait to hear what they end up doing today!

All is well at home. The younger kids had their karate class last night and I had my stamp club. We made a wonderful card. I hope to be able to share a picture of it soon, but I seem to have mislaid my card reader - I know it's here somewhere!! I did do a little stitching too, so some progress pics will be on the way too.

I'm going to go off and look for that reader now, lol!

I visited Tokyo about three years ago - it's an interesting and busy place. Since I was there for work, it was a very short trip, but I really enjoyed it and would like to go back sometime.

Hope your DH and DS have a great time!

It's great they're so far away but you can communicate with them this easily. You even have pictures already.
I hope they enjoy their stay.

Isn't it wonderful being able to "see" them there while they're there!!

Ooh, I bet they'll have a fun time there with the language and food. Just watch it on the wasabi.

Von, did you ask your DH to bring back some crafty things for you? Japan has loads of these. I've asked a colleague of mine to look out for some rose pins the other stitchers raved about when she goes back in April.

Buying gifts is always hard. I have a hard time spending money on stuff that I would not have bought at home just to 'buy' something. (I do have a bit of Norwegian-Grinch blood in me).

I did look for something today though. Everyone has seen the T-shirts that say "My parents went to (insert something) but all I got was this T-shirt"

Von likes collecting souvenir pins - I looked for on that said something similar "... went to Tokyo and all I got was this pin" but no luck!
