Not Keeping Up

I'm not sure what's going on with me this week, but I've fallen way behind on just about everything from laundry to blog reading. Maybe it's the Olympics capturing my attention, or that plus I'm just not focusing on anything. Well, at least everyone has been fed and they all still have underwear!

The smocking guild met tonight, but we were without several members. We are working on a hardanger emery cushion kit. Several of us have done hardanger before, but for others this is their first experience and need a little assistance at times. I'm excited about this little cushion as I've never had an emery that's used to keep your pins and needles sharp. I turned in another Grady gown - woot! And I have two more all seamed and ready to smock.

The temperatures are dropping and could go into single digits tonight. So of course, with this being a holiday weekend, we're going camping, lol! Not going very far, just the next town over - Walla Walla. My dh is into geocaching, and there are a few new ones he hasn't found yet over there. Well, we have an Arctic Fox travel trailer, so we'll find out just how it does in arctic temperatures! We'll have full hook-ups and we'll take full advantage, keeping the trailer nice and toasty. :D I should have a chance to spend some quality time stitching. Now to decide what to take along.

In honor of Valentines Day this week, I will share with you another stunner from the Victoria Sampler trunk show - Heirloom Anniversary Sampler. The color scheme called for in this design gives it an antique feel, but oh so sumptuous and rich.

Hi Von! Just a check in to say hello while I've got internet access. I'll have to catch back up with the rest of the "Gemini Gift Exchange" to get all that information again...

Hope that you are well. Take care!

Enjoy your trip and geo-cashing (?spelling) It sounds like a good hobby -- gets you out of the house on week-ends!! LOL

Try and stay warm. Enjoy.

That is a lovely VS sampler. They have beautiful stitching projects.

u've never done hardanger and I always wanted to learn. Right now I am learning the Rice Stitch from VS Beyond Stitch. I've never worked on evenweave fabric before, only Aida. It should interesting how it goes.

I know what you meant by falling behind. I just looked at my laundry hamper and wondered how in the world did it get so high so fast??? Too much stitching and Olympics maybe?? :)

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog.

Ahh I didn't do proof reading before I posted my comment. I mean I've never done hardanger before.

Oops!

I get behind all the time especially on blog reading and it takes me hours/days to catch up :)

Have a wonderful weekend my friend!

Have a lovely weekend camping Von. Hope you stay warm.

I love that VS design too and have it in my sash to hopefully stitch for our 30th wedding anniversay in a couple of years time.

Have a great(warm!) time camping. Better you than me :-) I have no idea what geocatching is but I wil go check it out. Always good to learn something new. I love your grady dresses, my grandmother used to make us dresses like that. I think I still have one at my mom's. Do post a picture. I had to laugh at keeping everyone fed and that they have clean underwear. This is often my own definition of -I haven't totaly lost control. Keep up the good work.

I know what you mean about getting behind, especially with blog reading - I'm finally trying to catch up this week ... and I'm reading every single post 'cos I'm too scared of missing something LOL. Loved seeing the latest VS trunk show pieces (boy, oh boy, that's been so inspiring), and your latest little 'coeur' freebie stitched up beautifully :) I'm imagining the smells of that wonderful baking day you had, and it's making me hungry ... time to go get fed and watered, I think, before I take a break for a spot of stitching and a movie (my treat to myself after reading 150 blog entries today LOL) ... it's been nice to finally catch up with your blog - I always enjoy reading it :))

The VS piece is stunning. I've never done hardanger before, though I do occasionally stare at a few "beginner" patterns trying to figure out what's being shown.
Sounds like you're going to have a wonderful weekend.
Running behind? I'm still trying to figure out where I've been let alone where I'm going. Looks like a few of us are in this state at the moment. Happy Weekend!

I LOVE that sampler, Von! It's so rich, yet subtle in color, and of course, the hardanger sets it off. I love doing hardanger though have only done small pieces. It's so much fun and not a difficult thing at all. I've seen so many talented stitchers afraid to try it, but if I can do it, anyone can, lol.

Oh, phooey... I'm so behind on EVERYthing; I'm just giving in to it. So I'm behind... so what? I was born with one speed, and it ain't fast.
