A Quiet House . . .

except for the wind blowing outside - 5o mph gusts. I just heard a crashing sound and found a good-sized limb from the maple tree was blown down and hit the front window cover of our trailer. Looks like we'll be ordering a replacement. Hope the wind quiets soon - I'll even be glad for some rain!

DH has taken the four youngest kids with him to Boise to visit Grandpa. He is continuing to improve, albeit slowly. We'll gladly take it! Also in Boise are The Cousins! So they're all having a lovely time. Meanwhile, the remaining Paulsons are having a lovely, quiet time at home. I made a fantastic French press coffee with a little cream for breakfast this morning, lingered over the paper as well as poured over some old mags looking for landscaping and remodeling ideas for the house. DS has his ipod going and playing computer games (what else is new!), and DD is at karate class (what else is new!). Later DD and I will go to Lowe's to look at wallpaper and paint and begin to pull together some ideas for her bedroom. I hope to sneak in some browsing time to begin budgeting for the house projects.

Last nite was my monthly stamping club meeting. Janet always has a great project for us! We made this card holder and a card to go inside. Very pretty and lots of fun. I'll be looking for the next 40% off coupon for Michaels or Joann's to get a Xyron machine. We used one to apply adhesive to the flower design of the card holder, then sprinkled the glitter on top - so quick and easy!! My youngest DD will go crazy making stickers, lol!

I did get a few stitches into Winter Banner after I got home from stamping. Actually, I finished the scotch stitch around the design using the silk overdye, oh so pretty! Next is the blanket stitch all around, nun's stitch flap and I'll be done.

It has been far too long since I enjoyed a cup of French (or Swiss) pressed coffee. You've made my mouth water.
