Return to Normalcy

Around lunchtime yesterday the Boise contingent left Kennewick to return home, leaving me with just the usual chaos of my family. My 96 gallon garbage can is full and bulging over with all the trash from Christmas and family here for three days plus some. I don't know what I'm going to do till Friday and pick up day!! I went to bed a little early for me last night after beginning a VS freebie, "Baby's 1st Christmas". I'll do two of these for my grandsons. Then I slept in until 8:30 this morning. I never feel really tired until everyone is gone, then I crash. Today I'm going to stitch some more on these ornaments and do some laundry and that's about it!

Here is a close up of the W by M Designs that I stitched for my daughter, Mystie. It was stitched on the Smokey Pearl cashel linen with Thread Gatherer silk floss, Spring Rainbow. The color changes in the floss are very subtle from light gray blue, cream, to white that complements the medieval feel of the design. Mystie loves medieval literature and I knew I had to stitch this for her when I saw it. I have more of these from my last S.E.X.capades in Boise (Stash Enhancement eXpedition for the uninitiated!) and am anxious to try them out with some other overdyed flosses!

The "W" turned out beautifully and it looks like Mystie appreciates her Mom's talents!

What a lovely project that turned out to be. I loved the picture you included of your daughter holding it - it's clear to see that she's thrilled by it!

You did such a beautiful job on the W, Von. You should be really proud! I love the subtlety of the overdyed silk that you chose against that lovely grey background. :)

"W" is lovely Von! Which other letters did you get? - I've got Celtic Heart in my list of to-dos someday, all the family's initials and the letters to do our surname.

The Redwork Alphabet on my blog is a kit that I bought in Paris in 2002, I need to track down the details but I'll let everyone know when I get the chart cover.

Happy New year Von! I love the W! It is beautiful! I bet Mystie will love it! If I was the recipient of it, I would love it! =)

Your "W" you did for your daughter is beautiful - and I bet it's even nicer in real life than it is on your blog! I've missed reading your updates over the last week or so ... it'll be nice to stay on top of everything and getting back into a routine :) That Newsgator sure is a huge time saver!! {hugs}
