While most of the world has already seen the New Year in, we in the Pacific time zone have several hours to go! This year it looks like we'll all be celebrating at home and staying out of the rain and trying to keep the wet stuff out of the basement. We don't often get enough rain for this to be a problem, but there is one window well near the location where rain is diverted from the roof (currently gutterless) that fills with water that seeps into the basement bathroom. Argh! DH has taken the gutter that should be up on the eaves (lol!) and propped it up to catch the rain from the valley of the roof and take it away from the house - very attractive let me tell you! So glad it's dark early these days.
I've been deconstructing Christmas trees today, doing more laundry, and staying out of the rain. I usually go to Costco on Friday, but with the rain, there wasn't anything I needed that badly, so I stayed home yesterday. Now I haven't been out of the house in several days, being way too lazy! It feels so good! After several days like this, I'll be ready to get back to the normal routine again.
I have been working on the VS "Baby's 1st Christmas" ornaments and have completed the stitching on one for Hans (DGS) and will begin the second tonight. They are very sweet and work up just as quickly as Jenna promised!
I'm off to stitch! Then I'll be popping the cork in a couple of hours to see the New Year in. May 2006 be full of God's blessings for us all and more stitching hours in each day!

Happy New 2006 Year to you, Von! May this year be better than the last.
Happy New Year to you, Von. Like you I have been lazy too and it feels soooo good. It's raining here now also. My son's car got stuck in our driveway because the ground's so wet! Better than snow though!
Happy, creative and fun-filled 2006, Von, enjoy yourself and Keep On Blogging!!!! I have had a very very lazy couple of days and feel like the batteries are gradually being recharged, so I hope you enjoy some "Me-Time"!
So, how is the new year starting off at your house? Hopefully there is plenty of laughter and good times!
Have you already removed your Xmas tree?! Don't you keep it until Epiphany? Or may be you don't celebrate this in the US? Then tell me and I'll explain on my blog if you wish.
I still feel like making Xmas ornaments myself... I think I could make some all year long!
Take care!
Happy new year to you, Von! Sounds like you've had some wonderful downtime. :) I can't wait to see your baby's 1st ornaments. I'm glad that you seem to be enjoying them as much as I did!
