Christmas Eve Eve

When I woke this morning, I was already behind schedule. Thursday evening I was struggling with some kind of bug, making me REALLY cold (I was running a fever). Snuggling up in my warm waterbed didn't help, so my DH brought me the little electric heater and a little while later I warmed up. As long as I was in bed and couldn't quite sleep, I finished reading Xenocide from Orson Scott Card's Ender series. It was nice to be able to get some reading done, but I was still working on a couple of gift projects and had planned to wrap presents. Oh well. Earlier in the day I did get my grocery shopping done, including a huge 17 lb rib roast for Christmas dinner!! Yum!

Now I seem to have a bit of a cold, so I've been on otc meds making me feel just a little bit out of it. Still, I was behind schedule so had to push on. I was able to get over to Costco this morning about 10:30. The parking lot was so full and as Kirsten and I walked in, the checkout lines were already winding through the product aisles. Ugh! Not much I could do about it, so we just did our shopping and by the time we were ready to checkout, they had more checkers and the process was quite painless. This afternoon I finished my gifts and have been wrapping, cleaning, and doing laundry since.

In another hour or so my husband's brother and his family will arrive from Boise adding another five bodies in the house! Tomorrow my sister and her family will be here, also from Boise, and that will be another four; however, they will be staying in a motel with better bathroom facilities! Then my DD and her family will be dropping in on us too!! That makes 21 for dinner on Sunday. Many of that number are children, including 7 boys ages 9-14. It's computer game central when they all get together.

I probably won't have much chance to post again until after Christmas, so my dear friends I wish you one and all a very Merry Christmas. May you be blessed as your friendship has blessed me!

Von, it's been a pleasure getting to 'meet' you - I wish you and your family a wondrous Christmas and New year, and look forward to seeing more of you in 2006 :) Your tree looks absolutely stunning ... and hopefully you'll shake off those bugs before the morning comes :))

Hey Von! I am sorry to hear you are sick! I hope you feel better soon! I have had a nasty cold on and off for about 2-3 weeks now, it is getting annoying! I hope you can throw yours out with the wrapping paper! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! And thank you for the comment on my blog. I am glad you made it out of Costco alive! I work at Sams club, and I am so thankful I am not working this weekend. But the past few weeks have been treacherous!
Happy Stitching!

Merry Christmas Von! Thank you for the card and letter. Your tree is beautiful! We also will have 22 at Mom and Dad's this year! Isn't it amazing! You are going to have to rent a banquet hall when your other kids get married!!!

Have a very Merry Christmas! All our love from our house to yours!

Hi Von! 21 around the table, a big cold, and lots of food to prepare and swallow! You must be exhausted! But I'm sure (well, I DO hope!) it was a great, cheerful, memorable Xmas, full of love and joy!
Get some rest!
Hugs!

Dear Von, I hope you're having a wonderful Holiday! I hope you're not too exhausted - or if you are, at least that you are happy.

Goodness Von! That's a lot of family at the table for Christmas dinner! I hope that you felt better in time for the experience to not be totally overwhelming and exhausting. With all of your loved ones gathered around you, I'm sure you had a very merry Christmas! *hug*

Von: WOW. You had a house full of people. How awesome. We kinda break up the holiday into smaller groups! You manage your space very well.

Love all the pictures ; ) I took photos with my regular camera as the Grammies don't have computers. Cannot talk them into using them.

Sorry to read you had been ill. I got the flu before Christmas & now struggle with the head cold/sore throat. It must be going around. Are you better now?

DH did grocery shopping on Christmas Eve morning & then we took the boys to pick out their gifts. Oh well ... it all worked out.
