Goin' Crazy!

But you already knew that.

Yesterday I did the piecing for the front and back of the crazy patch purse that I'm making with my friends in the smocking guild. That was fun, but now I get to embellish them and try out some of the embroidery stitches on my sewing machine. I don't have a really fancy machine with hundreds of stitches, but enough to have some fun. After that I may do some hand embroidery, but I'll have to dig out some really big, sharp needles to get through the heavy canvas foundation.

I was enjoying this so much, I made a trip down to Hancock Fabrics to buy the book, "Barbara Randle's More Crazy Quilting with Attitude", for myself. There are lots of great projects that would be a blast to sew.

This is beautiful! I love the colors. I just received a crazy quilting book for my birthday, so I am anxious to see what stitches and embellishments you use on this.

When I saw your comment about going crazy, I thought you'd caught something from me yesterday ;) LOL. Seriously, though, I'm gonna love watching the progress of this purse ... crazy quilting isn't something I personally want to do, but I love to see others doing it, and your fabric choices are awesome! :D

Not a fan myself, but I love what you're doing. Gotta be a kick to do it with friends as well. Have you checked out Pamela Kellogg's site, she has soooooo many free crazy quilting stuff, as well as embroidery and xstitching, all kinds of stuff to play with!!!

Congrats on all your accomplishments, including the crazy quilt purse. Sewing machines can actually make fun stitches? In that case, I want one!

I LOVE your fabric choices. Can't wait to see how you embellish it. I'm so tempted to dabble in CQ. So far I just lurk on CQ blogs and drool.
